Sussex Police Urge Businesses To Improve Security

In April 2020 at the start of the coronavirus lockdown Sussex police issued a warning with high concerns of increased organised burglaries across our local cities and towns. Increased numbers of police patrols have targeted known criminals in the Sussex area to help protect local businesses and homes.

This warning was triggered, after two men were arrested in March 2020 for reportedly stealing £80,000 of stock from Currys PC World in Hove.

According to the Worthing Herald Detective Chief Inspector Alasdair Henry states “We are urging business owners to ensure that they have sufficient and robust security features in place and that they are in full working order.

The latest number of reported burglaries for Worthing and Rustington in the last 12 months hit a staggering 139. That is 95 in Worthing and 44 in Rustington alone. Lancing have a reported 20 cases of burglaries and Brighton 117.
